Take a look at these two articles found in Bloomberg BusinessWeek, "Mortgages Lost in the Cloud" and "Why Florida's Foreclosure Machine Is Slowing Down".
The issue being discussed is the problem of processing foreclosures due to the fact that the registration system is in disarray....more importantly, the article intimates that the process and recovery could be a longer one than anticipated.
