Why don't banks offer great mortgage rates?

I went to a mortgage broker to shop my mortgage originally just to see what was available. When I asked the broker a question by email I got response within minutes. I asked hundreds of questions to the broker and each time by email I got response in minutes. It takes you or anyone I dealt with at "the bank" days to get back to me if at all.
In my mind "the bank" only wanted my business when I said I was changing banks. You should have been on top of my account the whole time offering me the best rates available. Instead "the bank" sat back and took my money thinking that I would never look into other options. If "the bank" really looked out for their customer I wouldn’t even be writing this email.
Please finalize the paper work you received too moved my mortgage. I am in the process of moving all my accounts from the "the bank" to another financial institution. Thanks for the years of service you’ve provided for me and my family.
